Surf Zone has been operating kitesurfing lessons since 2008. Before Siquijor, we ran kiteschools in Taiwan and Estonia, and taught in Turks and Caicos, living the kite life across three very different coastlines.

In 2023 we arrived in Siquijor during the Habagat season. Back then you could count the kiters on the island on one hand. The place had wind, warm water and empty beaches, but almost no one knew it as a kite destination.

We set up a small base and started putting Siquijor's kitesurfing on the map, sharing conditions, sessions and stoke so travellers could actually find this place.

Two talented young guys have been with us since our second Amihan season here. They hung around our sessions, then picked up the kite themselves taught by our founder, who brings 18 years of kitesurfing experience to the beach. Today they're part of our instructor team in Siquijor.

Surf Zone is a family project at its core. We built it to live the lifestyle we wanted: wind, water, and kids who get to play outside the way kids are meant to: barefoot, in nature, with the sea as the backyard.
